Computers can be such a pain in the wazoo. My netbook has crashed, so I'm redoing the whole shebang, spent 10 minutes waiting for it and now it tells me there's still an error. My laptop has screen issues so I'm hooked up to an external monitor, which is fine, but hard to take with me to write elsewhere. And my son's laptop is having issues as well. However, it seems to be recovering fine.... so far. Wish me luck (and lots of valium LOL) Alley the frustrated

Short Story Contest Deadline March 1 The  Yuri’s Night Short Story Contest   deadline is March 1, 2013 . Human Spaceflight became a reality over 50 years ago with the launch of a bell-shaped capsule called “Vostok 1.” The capsule was carrying Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who took his place in history as the first human to leave the bounds of Earth and enter outer space. This year,  Yuri’s Night  will be co-sponsored with the  Greater Ft. Worth Chapter of the Moon Society  and the  North Texas Speculative Fiction Workshop  at the Benbrook Library, Benbrook, TX. Along with snacks, poetry readings, and short story readings, Ken Murphy from NSSNT will bring a movie about Yuri Gagarin. Part of this year’s celebration is a short story contest. SyFy ends Alphas after two seasons The superhuman power of the Alphas couldn’t save the show. After two seasons, SyFy cancels  Alphas . The news, according to Todd VanDerWerff at avclub.com , was first reported by the stars of the show,  Azita Ghanizada ,  Ryan Cartwright , and  Warren Christie , posting tweets informing their fans of the show’s demise.
